3.Mastering self-management-45
4.Employing interdependence-51
5.Gaining self-awareness-4
6.Adopting lifelong learning-52
7.Developing emotional intelligence-56
8. Believing in myself-54
2. Question: Write about the areas on the self- assessment in which you had your highest scores.
By taking this self- assessment, I learned that my highest score was in Discovering self motivation. I am not surprised with scoring high in this area because I think it's relevant to me. I am usually good with motivating myself to get things done. I think self motivation is more important that motivation from anyone else because i believe you will only do your best at something when its something that you want to do
3. Question: Write about the areas on the self assessment in which you had your lowest scores.
After tallying up my score, I came to find out that Mastering self management was my lowest area. This surprised me because I am usually good with taking blame in a situation even when it is not my fault. I do get frustrated with things like bad teaching and I am guilty of blaming my bad grade on the teacher which I do need to change. During this course, I would like to make myself more responsible of things I do and choices I make.

Chapter 1: Journal Entry Two
1. Contrast the surface culture of the last school you attended with that of your present school.
1. Teachers treatment of students -
High school teachers and college professors are totally different. It was quite a change going from high school to college classes because of the way the students get treated. In high school, teachers are much more strict about what you're aloud and not aloud to do. In college you kind of do as you want, to an extent. In college you can leave when you want, and in high school you have to get permission. For example, if you need to go to the bathroom in college you just get up and go, in high school you have to ask the teacher and if she says so you can't go. In high school teachers are also more careful with their choice of words. In the college classes I've had so far, pretty much anything was aloud to be said during a discussion.
1. Courses offered -
At the high school I go to, your class choice is very limited. They have the basic subjects and electives taken during high school, including things like math, history, science, and English, band, P.E., etc. College's have the same type core classes as high schools but go to a much higher level. Their electives are offered at a much broader range of things and don't last as long as high school classes do.
2. Time -
The amount of time you spend at high school is not comparable to the time you spend at high school. During high school, you have 7 periods a day and go to the same classes 50 minutes a day, 7 days a week. In my college class, I only had to go one night a week for 2 hours and 45 minutes. Your punishment is also worse when you're late to a high school class than when you're late to a college class.
2. Homework -
Homework in high school is given more often and at a repeatedly. In high school there are many classes that give homework every day. In college you usually have one assignment a week. You may have to go deeper and work at a higher level during your college assignments but you always have longer to do them than you have for a high school assignment. College professors are harder and more tough on grading than high school teachers are.
2. Class Discussions
In a college class, discussions happen a lot, more often than they do in a high school class. In high school ,you have to raise your hand and wait your turn to speak. On the other hand, in college classes everyone kind of just talks when they please and the discussions go out to a much broader range of things. High school discussions are limited because you can't always say how you feel or what you think about something and in college, professors don't watch what you say as closely as teachers do.
Chapter 1: Journal Entry Three
1. Identify one thing you have learned simply because you enjoyed learning.
1. One thing I enjoyed learning was using a camera. I am good with taking and editing pictures all from taking one class. During the class, I was very interested in learning how to take good, detailed pictures, so learning how to use the camera was very easy. I also think it was easy me for to learn because taking pictures is a hands on activity and I learn much better with hands on or demonstrations. Reading a book or listening to someone talk about something doesn't interest me, so sometimes I don't retain the information.
2. With a focus on the information or skill identified in Step 1, write answers to each of the following questions.
a. How did you gather the information or skills you needed to learn this?
I gathered the information in learning this by looking through the menu and settings on the camera.
b. What did you do to learn the information or skills needed to learn this?
I took pictures with different settings and changed them until I thought the picture looked best.
c. What else did you do to learn this?
I also watched videos on how to use the camera and tried to learn things about set up, background lightings, and how to get the best pictures possible.
d. How often did you engage in learning this, how long did you usually spend?
I engage in taking pictures a lot. I took pictures when my brother was born, I take pictures when we go on family vacations, or if I see something pretty outside.
e. When I first started messing with the camera I tried to do at least one photo shoot a week.
f. What feedback did you use to determine how well you had learned this?
My mom let me take some of her wedding pictures, which told me that I must not have been too bad.
g. How did you feel when you engaged in learning this?
I was always and still always get very excited when I get a pretty picture. I feel like I have accomplished something.
h. What were the rewards for learning this?
The rewards to learning how to use the camera was finding something that I enjoy to do, I love capturing beautiful moments.
3. Write about the key points you have learned or relearned about learning and how you will use this knowledge to maximize your learning in college.
By reading and writing about learning, I have realized that you have to give something your all and get interested, to get the best outcome. Try and broaden your learning strategies and make learning more fun. Being organized is also a good way to keep your school life together. Don't always do the minimum work either, go farther into what you're learning and try and learn as much as possible.

On a scale of 1 to 10 I think my self esteem is about a 7. My score in section #8 of the self-assessment was 54. I think my self-esteem is lower than it should be because I get jealous very easily. I don't like being around girls that are prettier than me or people that don't like me. I also think it's because I don't think I'm gorgeous. I don't think I'm ugly but I think I could be better looking. I tend to be very shy if I don't know people because I don't want to get judged. I'm happy with myself, but if I could fix my flaws I would.
